, Tank Stars has you going through various elevated terrain in order to aim and strike at your targets. Unlike the former, however, the tanks here can use
unconventional weapons
such as ice and lightning bombs. There’s also
online multiplayer
here to test your skills against other tank masters.
Charge into battle
In Tank Stars, the goal is simple: eliminate the enemy’s HP by
firing as accurately as you can
. There are
no restrictions
on ammo and time so you just have to survive the opponent’s own counterattacks. The tutorial first teaches you how to aim and fire. It’s not fully clear but dragging your dotted line requires diagonal strokes, as well, since the shots
need both angle and power
behind them.
There are
four game modes
available: VS Computer, 2/5 Battles, 2/10 Battles, and 1/2 Tanks. For all modes, you can choose your tank and the ammo you’ll be using. You can
upgrade weapons and tank stats
, as well. You can also buy
Chests
and
Cards
with the currency you have or simply play ads to get some of the rewards.
Take note, however, that the
ads often play
as you switch between sections—almost annoyingly so. You can purchase the option to turn them off permanently. Other than this, though, the game is quite enjoyable. It’s highly similar to the
Worms
series with its
turn-based strategy
mechanics, as you must conserve fuel for every turn that you move and calibrate your aim’s angle and power precisely.
Brave the line of fire
All in all, Tank Stars is a great
tank game
if you like
turn-based combat
and want something beyond the realism that most tank games offer. While the ads can be annoying—especially when they play while your screen is idle—the gameplay more than makes up for this issue and challenges you to plan your moves and aiming, especially when up against other players.
